Week 1: On Edge

Nov 4, 2023

When I got sober at the age of 30, I had the sense that everything was new…that I had my whole life ahead of me. In recovery we get to build a new future because we actually have a future. When it comes to you building a future, I don’t think God cares what you do but I think God cares a great deal about who you are. And in my experience, when I do these two things well, the rest works itself out. We’ll talk about those two things Saturday night.

Shannon Melcher will join me as our Guest Storyteller. We met Shannon in August of 2021–when her recovery journey was starting. She went to treatment 15 times in 2.5 years. She stumbled, she fell, but she didn’t give up on recovery. She found purpose in each fall…and in looking back she knows: God’s got me and my future. Shannon’s been sober four months. She was finally able to get honest now and she’s finding a new way, a new future.
